Everything happening at Coral Ridge, in one place.
Who we are, where we came from, and the work God has built from this corner of Fort Lauderdale.
A Gospel-centered church that equips culture-shaping Christians from generation to generation.
Coral Ridge is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, gathering every Sunday for traditional and contemporary worship under the same spire that has marked the Fort Lauderdale skyline for fifty years.
We believe the Gospel is more than the doorway into faith — it is the lens through which all of life is understood. That conviction has shaped this church from its founding, and it still shapes everything we do.
What began with forty-five people became a work felt around the world.
Coral Ridge is chartered with forty-five members under a young pastor named D. James Kennedy.
Evangelism Explosion is born here — a way of training every member, not just clergy, to share the Gospel.
Westminster Academy opens, extending the church’s ministry to the education of children.
The sanctuary is dedicated, its 303-foot spire becoming a landmark on the Fort Lauderdale skyline.
Broadcast ministry carries preaching from the Coral Ridge pulpit to millions of homes.
Knox Theological Seminary is founded to train pastors and teachers for the church.
Dr. Kennedy goes home to be with the Lord after forty-seven years in the Coral Ridge pulpit.
Under Pastor Rob Pacienza, Coral Ridge continues equipping culture-shaping Christians for a new generation.
There is far more to the story — the full history traces God’s faithfulness through every season of this church.
Read the full historyDr. Kennedy planted Coral Ridge as a small congregation and served its pulpit for nearly half a century. In the early years, when attendance had dwindled, he became convinced that evangelism was the calling of every believer — a conviction that became Evangelism Explosion and carried the Gospel through millions of trained laypeople worldwide.
A scholar, broadcaster, and founder of schools and a seminary, he preached that Jesus is Lord of all of life — the same vision that animates Coral Ridge today.
“The Church is not a showcase for saints, but a hospital for sinners.”Dr. D. James Kennedy
